Aislinn O'Flynn’s Background
From a very young age Aislinn was always passionate about designing and creating. She went on to study in the Limerick School of Art and Design, where she graduated as a Ceramic Designer. Along with her love for creativity, she has also been passionate about working with others and has spent a lot of time volunteering. While working in numerous schools, centres and various care settings Aislinn began to realise the importance of the senses in the learning process. Her interest in this area was further intrigued when asked to create ceramic work for a sensory garden for a centre which cared for individuals with various needs. During her final year she decided to investigate the effectiveness of ceramics as a sensory medium for individuals that were experiencing sensory difficulties. It was during this time that she co-created her first product with a number of autistic children and their teachers based in a primary school in Co. Cork.
